Douglas E. Schoen |
Douglas E. Schoen has
been one of the most influential Democratic campaign
consultants for over thirty years. Widely recognized
as one of the co-inventors of overnight polling,
Schoen has been revolutionizing the American voter
polling process with his firm Penn, Schoen, and
Berland for his entire career.
Political clients in the United
States include: Idaho Governor, Cecil Andrus;
Indiana Governor, Evan Bayh; Kentucky Governor,
Paul Patton; Nevada Governor, Bob Miller; Louisiana
Senator, John Breaux; New York Senator, Daniel
Patrick Moynihan; West Virginia Senator, John
D. Rockefeller; and New York City Mayor Michael
Bloomberg. International political clients have
included British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Italian
Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, Israeli Prime
Ministers Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Rabin, Ehud
Barak, and the heads of state of thirteen other
countries.
He has also provided preeminent
strategic research to an extensive list of corporate
clients, including AOL Time Warner, Procter &
Gamble, Major League Baseball, AT&T, Frito Lay,
and Citibank.
He was named "Pollster of the
Year" by the American Association of Political
Consultants for work on President Bill Clinton's
1996 reelection campaign, and is the subject of
a Time magazine profile, "Masters of the Message"
about the 1996 Clinton campaign .
Doug graduated magna cum laude
from Harvard College, and is a graduate of Harvard
Law School, Dr. Schoen has his doctorate in philosophy
from Oxford University in England.
He has lectured at Annenberg
School for Communication at the University of
Pennsylvania, the Institute of Politics at the
Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government,
and the School of International and Public Affairs
at Columbia University.
